Northern Technology Solutions (“NTS”) is a Canadian managed IT services provider based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We deliver managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and consulting services.

Information We Collect

• In regulated environments, NTS may incidentally access personal or health information strictly as required to perform IT services. NTS does not collect data for resale or profiling.

 Legal Basis & Compliance

• NTS complies with PIPEDA and, where applicable, PHIPA. NTS acts as a service provider / processor while the client remains the data owner.

• If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

• When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Trusted third-party security platforms may be used to assist in delivering services. They do not trade or sell your personal information. NTS does not sell or trade personal information.

How long we retain your data

• Data is retained only for the duration required to provide services or meet legal obligations, then securely deleted or access revoked.

• You can request access to your data at any time.

Client Responsibilities

• Clients are responsible for governance, consent, and data classification. NTS supports compliance but does not override client policies.

Privacy Policy — SMS Addendum

This addendum explains how Northern Technology Solutions (“NTS”) handles mobile phone numbers and SMS-related data for our security-only SMS program.

What We Collect

• Mobile phone number provided for SMS verification
• Delivery status and basic message metadata required to operate the service

How We Use SMS Information

We use mobile phone numbers solely to send security-related SMS messages, including:

• One-time passcodes (OTP)
• Sign-in or authentication alerts
• Account security notifications

No Selling or Sharing – NTS does not sell, rent, trade, or share mobile opt-in data, SMS consent records, or message content with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Retention

SMS-related data is retained only as long as necessary for security operations, troubleshooting, legal, or compliance purposes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

Your Choices

You may opt out of security SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a message or by disabling SMS-based verification in your account settings.
